Event Information
Tournament Rules
U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf shall govern all play, except as modified by Local Rules. The ball shall be played as it lies unless otherwise announced and noted by the tournament committee. An official Tournament Scorecard will be issued to the competitors of each match at the starting hole of each match. This shall serve as the only Scorecard used for recording purposes by the Tournament Committee. The Official Scorecard is to be signed by each team and IMMEDIATELY turned into the Scoring Area. All Matches are required to have one team responsible for the posting of hole by hole scores on the Golf Genius APP. When posting scores you will post the GROSS score only . The App takes care of the handicap adjustments. Winners and Losers of holes determined by matching the lowest net score per team. Team with the lower net score wins the hole. H ’ caps based off low player. All teams play 7 matches throughout the event against the teams in their own flight. Each match is 9 holes in duration. Each hole won is considered 1 point earned. Should a hole be tied, each team will receive a 1 / 2 point. At the conclusion of Flight Play, the team that has earned the most points within their flight, is deemed to be the Flight Champion. Should teams in the flight tie for the highest point total in their flight at the conclusion of the event, the point total from the match played between the tied teams will be used. Should that not determine a match winner, the head - to - head match results from highest point total team to lowest point total team will be used. All Flight Champions will participate in a Playoff after all matches have been concluded. The 4 winners of the playoff will proceed to a Championship Shootout to determine the overall win ner of the event. The GMGA Sponsors the Death Flight . This is a competition amongst the bottom two teams (least # of pts) in each flight at the start of the 6th match. The team that makes the most points in matches 6 & 7 (Flights 1 - 4, 5 - 8, 9 - 12, 13 - 16) will win golf shop credit ($100/team) A handicap reduction will be made to any team whose course handi cap differential is greater than 10 strokes, regardless of which team you are playing from.

All play will be from the Tournament Tees (Blue, White or Gold). All players wishing to play from the Gold Tees must notify the profession al staff 7 days prior to the first matches being played. All players play ing tees other than the Tournament Tees will have the necessary ad justments made to their Course Handicap. Once the tournament has commenced no other tee movements may be made. Players under the age of 50 with a plus handicap (not index) from the blue tees, must play the Blue tees. All other participants may play Gold or White. Should a member of a team not play any part of a match, the remain ing team member is allowed to play the match solo. Should both members of a team not participate in a match, the match is consid ered a forfeit. Should a team forfeit a match, the team that does play will play against par (w/full h ’ cap) but must be attested by a third par ty. They can possibly earn the full 9 points, with the forfeiting team earning 0 points. Points – 1/2 for net par, 1 - Net Birdie or better, 0 Bogey or more In the event a team wins their flight but is not able to play in the next playoff the team that is in second place will represent that flight Inclement Weather Please note that play will only be suspended if the Committee deems the weather to be dangerous, or if the course becomes unplayable. RAIN ALONE WILL NOT STOP PLAY!!! A single prolonged blast of a horn indicates play has been suspended., as well as the notice on the golf carts that play has been suspended. When play has been suspended by the Committee for a danger ous situation, they must discontiune play until the Committee has or dered the resumption of play. If the players in question are in the process of playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately, mark their balls posi tion and leave it in place and not resume play until the Committee has or dered the resumption of play. If a player fails to discontinue play immediate ly, he is disqualified, unless circumstances warrant waiving the penalty as pro vided in Rule 33 - 7. Two short blasts from the horn indicate the Committee has ordered the resumption of play. If play is not able to be completed for any matches the unplayed matches will Be split 4 - 1/2 to 4 - 1/2 to determine the winner of the flights . IF a team cannot play in the Champ. Playoff there will only be three teams competing for the overall Champ.

Horserace Shootout
On Friday afternoon depending on your flight # each flight will participate in a “ Horserace Shootout ” ( ONLY those that bought their team Wednes day Night). The teams within each flight play against each other using an Alternating tee shot format (no h ’ cap). The shootout is 5 holes using a stroke play shootout format. Players will alternate tee shots on the odd and even holes. Players will continue to alternate turns until the ball is holed. The (2) teams with the highest alternate shot score on the first hole of the shootout will be eliminated. On the second hole the (2) teams with the highest score will be eliminated. Each hole thereafter one team with the highest score will be eliminated. Should more teams be tied for the highest score than the amount of teams needed for elimina tion, a “ chip - off ” will determine the winner. The location of the chip - off will be designated by a small flag, with one player per team hitting (either player can hit the shot) The team with the closest ball to the hole is de termined to be the winner of the chip - off. The team that goes second may not watch the team that hits first. If there are less than eight teams they will only remove the amount of teams to reduce the # of teams to 6 teams for the second hole using the same format for the remaining holes The Championship Playoff will consist of the 16 flight champions (the team in each flight with the highest point total after all matches have been scored). This year the Flight Winner Playoff will take place at the Legacy course on holes 10, 16 - 18. The handicaps for the shoot out will be whole strokes (no decimals) and will follow the stroke allocation on the scorecard based upon the holes that are being played. If there is a playoff any strokes allotted the first time the hole is played will also be applied if played again. The team in each match with the lowest net score will ad vance to the Championship Shootout. The # of holes may be shortened by daylight. Legacy Flight Winner Playoff play holes 10, 16 - 18 Championship Match of the four flight winners play holes 10, 16 - 18 CHAMPIONSHIP Match : Winners of Matches 1, 2, 3, & 4 (using the same format as earlier) will compete for the Championship using a net alter nating tee shot format to determine the winner. Handicaps using the same format as Flight Playoff and based upon the number of holes being played. See handicap playoff sheet. Championship Playoff and Shootout
13 Event Information (cont ’ d.)
Ties: If there is a tie for the Championship a sudden death playoff will take place and #18 will be played again with the same handicap strokes as when played the first time. If still tied #18 hole will be played from 100 yards (Alternate ShotFormat) to determine the winner (no h ’ cap). If still tied then a chip - off by one of the players on each team will take place with the closest distance to the hole being awarded the winners prize. For this shoot - out both players will hit and will choose the clos est to represent the team. The area of play for the chip - off will be determined by Competition Committee. The second team to hit will not be able to look when the first teams hits.
