GENERAL MANAGER’ S MESSAGE

Dear Members,

Welcome to our summer edition newsletter, where we bring you the latest updates and exciting events happening at your Club. As the season unfolds, we’re thrilled to share how we’re enhancing your membership experience with exceptional golf course conditions and a calendar full of family-friendly activities. This summer, our focus remains on providing you with pristine golfing experiences. Behind the scenes, our dedicated team of agronomists and groundskeepers are implementing crucial practices to elevate turf health and playing conditions. From precision irrigation techniques to targeted fertilization schedules, every effort is geared towards ensuring our golf course maintains its unparalleled standards throughout the season. With membership growth continuing, now is the perfect time for your friends and family to seize the opportunity to join our exclusive Club. Limited memberships are available, offering access to our world-class facilities, including golf, tennis, fitness, dining, and social events. Mark your calendars for a summer filled with excitement and entertainment for all ages. From festive holiday celebrations to themed dining experiences and junior golf clinics, our lineup of events promises something special for every member of your family. Embrace the season with us as we create memorable moments and foster a sense of community within our club. A few of my favorites are the Membership Appreciation Party on September 20, Heirloom Tomato Dinner on August 30, the National Ice Cream Party on July 21, Ocho de Ocho on August 8 (we made it up!), and Wimbledon at the Stone on July 26, Kid’s Science Series and Patio Party with Black Sedan Band on July 27. Follow us on social media and regularly visit our website and app to stay updated on upcoming events, member highlights, and insider tips. We look forward to sharing a spectacular summer season with you and your family. Dive into excitement with our Thursday night Dive-in Movies, where you can relax under the stars while enjoying a family-friendly movie by the pool. It’s the perfect way to unwind and create lasting memories with loved ones.

Stay refreshed while out in the sun at our Pool Grill; our team is proud to serve delicious meals and snacks that complement your poolside experience. Plus, we’re excited to announce the arrival of our frozen drink machine at the pool bar.

We are thrilled to announce Lori Voisin as the newest addition to our team at Greystone, joining us as the Director of Finance. Lori brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to excellence in financial management. A native of Louisiana, Lori has called Birmingham home for over two decades, where she resides with her husband and two daughters. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA, and has earned her CPA designation, showcasing her dedication to profes sional excellence.

LORI VOISIN, Director of Finance

Lori’s career spans several esteemed companies in our area, including AT&T, Protective Life, and Royal Cup Coffee, where she has contributed her expertise in financial strategy and management. Her knowledge, personable demeanor, and extensive experience make her an invaluable asset to our finance department and Club. We are fortunate to have Lori join us at Greystone, where she will play a pivotal role in guiding our financial operations and ensuring continued fiscal health and transparency for our Club. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Lori Voisin. We encourage you to introduce yourselves and extend your greetings when you have the opportunity.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to Greystone. I hope to see you around the Club soon.

Best, Dave Dave Porter, General Manager/CEO

PRESIDENT’ S MESSAGE

Dear Members,

It’s Summer at Greystone!

For our golfingmembers, theMen’s Club Championship and the Member/Member tournament are drawing close. Make sure to get out onto the range and prepare for these competitive events. The competition will be fierce, and it’s a great chance to showcase your skills. These tournaments are highlights of our summer calendar, and we’re looking forward to seeing our members rise to the challenge and enjoy some friendly rivalry. The Board and Club Management have been diligently working on the long-range Master Plan for Greystone. Be on the lookout for an update on these efforts in the next few days. Our past Presidents will receive an overview of the plan next month, followed closely by town hall meetings where the plan details will be shared with the entire membership. This long-term planning is crucial for ensuring that Greystone continues to grow and improve, meeting the needs of our members for years to come. As we continue to enjoy all that summer has to offer, it’s important to remember the community and camaraderie that make Greystone so special. Whether you’re playing a round of golf, watching a movie by the pool, or simply enjoying a meal with friends, the connections we build here are what truly make our club unique. I hope you all have a great summer and take full advantage of everything Greystone has to offer. Enjoy the season, and see you around the club!

At a recent newmember reception, it was fascinating to hear the different perspectives on what attracts people to Greystone. The resounding theme was the welcoming and friendly environment that permeates our club. This is a testament to the special atmosphere we’ve created together, and it’s wonderful to see new members feeling at home so quickly. As we move into the peak season at Greystone, there’s something for everyone. While many of us enjoy time at the beach or the lake, don’t forget the great events and activities happening right here at the club. The 4th of July celebration is just around the corner. Plan to enjoy a day of golf or lounging by the pool, and cap it off with our spectacular fireworks display. It’s a perfect way to celebrate the holiday with family and friends. The day promises to be filled with fun and excitement, offering something for everyone to enjoy. Our weekly dive-in movies are a great opportunity for kids to have fun. Parents of teens, you can drop off your kids and enjoy a relaxing dinner in Cellar 91 or The Falls. Parents of kids younger than 12 can enjoy a family movie night and order their Cellar 91 pizza down to the pool. It’s a win-win for everyone, providing entertainment for the kids and a peaceful evening for the adults. The dive-in movies have become a beloved tradition, and we’re excited to continue offering this enjoyable experience throughout the summer.

Rod Fuller Rod Fuller, 2024 Club President
