The Stone News: April-June 2024

GENERAL MANAGER’S MESSAGE

Dear Members,

back in full service for members inside the gates. You can call the take-out/delivery phone number for take-out or delivery. Our Flagship Upscale Dining Restaurant, Aqua, has been under test for March with a Steakhouse concept. As a result, we will be going back to the original name of “The Falls”. This signifies no specific concept. It will be an Upscale Contemporary Restaurant with scratch recipes. We will keep the Steakhouse menu for April and May, with some items switching for seasonality. It will slowly change to compete with other top restaurants in Birmingham that do not have a specific cuisine identity. We will commit to always having a steakhouse section of the menu with three to four prime steaks as long as you enjoy them. The walls being built in front of the #9 tee at Legacy and #2 green at Legacy are coming to completion. They look incredible and add such a beautiful aspect to each hole. On behalf of the Board, Staff, and Membership, I thank Mark McGarvey for generously donating the funds for these walls to be constructed. The project fell into the want category but finished off a great course project in 2022, so he stepped up to make it come to fruition for all to enjoy. (I love embarrassing him when he asks me not to). We have added eight new remote-controlled walking carts for your enjoyment at each course. The fee is $15 rental per 18 holes, and the manual walking carts are now complimentary for member and guest use. The interior design company that did the work at Legacy has developed a refresh for Cellar 91. Once the Board finalizes and approves the plan in April, I will share it with the Membership. The work will take place in June and will not cause us to close the operation. I am so excited for the spring and summer seasons at Greystone. The staff and I look forward to seeing you around campus. Dave Dave Porter, General Manager/CEO

Please stop by the Cafe for seasonal coffee drinks and cold brew. I love Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, O’Henrys, and anywhere with good coffee. Not only do we have good coffee, but if you want to do work or relax with friends, why would you like to look at a parking lot at those establishments, while you can enjoy a beautiful view of the golf course at Greystone?
