Hello Fellow Members, I cannot believe that I am opening a letter stating that the holiday season is just around the corner. Greystone is the perfect place to bring your family to celebrate Thanksgiving and numerous Christmas activities. Be sure to review the social calendar on pages 14-15 and make reservations right away to guarantee your table. I want to emphasize that your board is committed to the long-term viability of the Club. At this year’s board re- treat, considerable time was spent discussing financial stability and benchmarking our Club against clubs across the nation. The board and senior management created a thorough 5-year proactive plan that encapsulates im- proving our financial position in regards to operating costs, capital replacement needs, building reserves and paying down our debt. I promise you that your board members spent many hours analyzing and agonizing over the many details before taking specific actions. As I realize the year is almost over, it is a time of personal reflection over the past year as president of our Club. I have received many tongue in cheek comments about all the “advice” that I would receive and why would I serve in this role. Well, I have to let you know that I have discovered that our membership cares about the success of our Club and I actually enjoyed the ideas for improvement and the support that I received this year. I appreciate your trust in me for this leadership opportunity at the Club and encourage other members to consider this path. In retrospect, I have learned that the operation of a country club is more complex than I ever imagined. The balance between controlling expenses, finding quality employees, dodging the weather, and predicting when our members are going to show up is an incredible balancing act. In my opinion, we all should be grateful for our professional management team, the employees that show up early and stay late even in cold, dark and rainy conditions. We owe them our patience and a round of applause for their daily part in working to improve our membership experience. President's Message
Let’s continue to make 2017 the best year ever at our Club. I look forward to spending the holiday social season with y’all. Regards,
Russ Hale Club President, 2017

General Manager's Message
Dear Members , I hope you are enjoying the Club with the beautiful fall weather. The golf courses are in great condition with lots of play and the tennis programs are incredibly active. Please take amoment to review the holiday event schedule for the upcoming season. We have all of our traditional Greystone events, plus some new ones for you to enjoy. We will be printing and mailing a separate calendar of all the holiday events with details. This calendar would be great to put on your refrigerator to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the fun. Night putting is coming in November! Our team will be installing lights on the back of the Founders Golf Operations Building to light up the putting green. Once the lights are installed we will offer night putting one per week to get started. On this night each week we will keep the Plaza Bar open and a golf staff member available to provide service. Please consider serving on a Club Committee in 2018. Committees play a vital role at Greystone in supporting the staff, Board of Directors and membership at large. The five Committees include: 1. Sports & Social 2. Membership Marketing & Communications 3. Golf 4. Finance 5. Membership Engagement Please go to greystonecc.com and scroll down on the homepage to Quick Links to complete the Committee Volunteer Form.
Be sure to attend the Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, November 30th at 6:00pm at the Founders Clubhouse. At this meeting, Board election results will be announced and I will give a State of the Club update. Additionally, we will unveil the Club's new promotional video. Crescent Moon Pictures does an excellent job. You don't want to miss seeing this incredible video! Congratulations to Mark Blackburn on being ranked 27th on Golf Digest's 2017 & 2018 list of The 50 Best Teachers in America. Chef Alan will be making some updates to the Cellar 91 dinner menu for seasonality of products. He will maintain his high quality with items available in late fall and early winter. Please encourage your friends to apply for membership before the end of 2017. On January 1 the initiation fee goes up to $29,000 golf and $7,500 social. They won’t want to miss the incredible programs and services we will be offering in 2018. Best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year!
Best regards,
Dave

The short courses at Founders & Legacy offer an opportunity to ref ine and polish your shots from 25 yards with an emphasis on chipping, pitching and putting with a few bunker shots sprinkled in. Mastering these scoring shots is essential to improving your game and lowering your handicap. Statistically speaking, 65% of shots for the club golfer are played inside 100 yards. Reducing the number of shots from 25 yards and in will quickly lead to lower scores. Power and distance advantages, at this distance, are nullif ied so juniors, ladies, seniors and men can all compete equally. Our short courses are designed to emphasize these scoring shots in a fun yet challeng ing environment.

Personal Training Client Testimonial M y name is Ali Cash and having Dalton as my trainer at Greystone was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was always active growing up, but this began to be less of a priority for me when I was in college. Over time, I began to realize my metabolism was no longer what it used to be and this lifestyle change had caused me to gain weight. After I got engaged, I was being unhappy about the weight gain so I decided I needed to make some changes. I called the Greystone Fitness Department to see if I could start workingwith a personal trainer. Dalton Gillilan reached out to me and since then he has been the biggest help! He has been nothing but encouraging and professional. Dalton has helped me become more educated about fitness and nutrition. Beliefs I thought were true about how to be a healthier person simply were not true, and Dalton helped me see that. Dalton strived to know me well as a client, and he was always prepared for what would be the best workout for me. He also took the time to figure what my calorie intake should be for the best results. I have never seen results like I have now! Twenty pounds lighter, happier, and more educated! I am so happy with my decision to work with a personal trainer and am confident to continue with my lifestyle change. -ALI CASH " " this Holiday Season Give the Gift of HEALTH & RELAXATION Gift Certificates Available in the Fitness Center for: massage therapy, personal training, health & fitness evaluations, and nutrition consultations/coaching.
