GENERAL MANAGER'S MESSAGE
Dear Members, I hope you and your family are well and staying safe.
Even though COVID-19 is not completely behind us, we have been able to return to some normalcy in our lives. The staff and I hope the Club contributed some positivity for you and your family during the peak of the stay-at-home period. Special events we’ve introduced will continue to be standard for us, including bingo, wine tastings, sunset cruises, and curbside grab-and-go. Thank you for supporting the Club during such a difficult time. Social Distancing Events Include: Virtual Bingo - July 7th, August 13th, September 10th Sunset Cruises - July 21st, August 18th, & September 2nd Virtual Wine Tasting - July 17th, August 21st, September 18th
Bria McKinney has done an incredible job putting together a first class team at the pool this summer. You will now see numbered flags on the dining and side tables around the pools to help improve service with a seamless delivery. She has assembled a full swim team even though the league didn’t exist this year. We will have several informal meets against clubs so the kids can get more competitive experience. Regions Tradition is coming fast with our new fall schedule of September 23-27. Tickets are on sale through our website or filling out a slip around the club and giving it to a manager. If you previously purchased tickets for May, they are still good for September. You may pick-up your tickets at the Founders reception desk. The Board approved moving forward with the refurbishment project of all 10 har-tru clay tennis courts. Work has begun on courts one and two. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by mid-August. The Finance Committee, Board, and management are still focused on the tennis building renovations to begin by this fall if the Club’s finances remain stable. We have purchased new banquet chairs for the main dining room, which have been delivered. We also completed a few other improvements while the clubhouse was closed: new fans were installed on the upper porches at Founders and new fires pits and seating arrangements were installed on the Terrace. The deteriorated concrete areas entering the Founders Golf Shop were replaced. The Club and Community are launching a new app and website in mid-July. Details on log-in and features will be sent several times in advance via email. As Mrs. Folmar stated, membership interest and growth has been excellent during the spring. Great work to Ashley and her team, as well as the department heads and staff for making Greystone a desirable Club to join. All of the help we get from members sponsoring, referring and acting as Ambassadors for prospective members is very much appreciated and the best tool we have to grow membership. I hope you have an amazing summer here at Greystone! I look forward to seeing each of you around the Club soon.
Best regards,
Dave Porter General Manager
